2 New Photos of the Day

It has just been brought to my attention by a dear friend that an image I took of my nephew, Johnny, is being displayed in Times Square, New York, TODAY! What a nice surprise!!! The picture can be seen below and was taken on a chilly afternoon last winter.
You can check out the official posting on Kodak's site by clicking here.

On Wednesday a different image of mine was recognized at Digital Image Cafe. It received a Photo of the Day in the Black & White Photography category. Pictured below are Joey Carr and Chelsey R- who both model locally and had contacted me to add new images to their portfolios.

Family Matters Mini Session

December is here! With the holiday season in full play, I know most of us are rushing around and trying to get everything done. It is important to just stop and really be thankful for your family...appreciate them and cherish the moment. Spending time with your family is actually the best holiday gift. ;)

I meet up with family "K" for a mini session a few days ago. They wanted some traditional family portraits for both themselves and to use as gifts for the grandparents. Check out some of their images below:

*Jen and I go way back- middle school classmates and college day coworkers SO even though she was here for family pictures I could not resist snapping this one. You still look awesome, girl!
And, Miss "H"- Thanks for offering a smile to my camera on your way out. LOL! Here is that artistic image I said I would try to do for your myspace account. 8th grade can be a tough year- so much is going on and changing.. hang in there. You are a very pretty young lady. I will put the handful of remaining images in a slideshow for you and it will be ready by tomorrow. You are a beautiful family- so full of energy and fun to be around. Thanks again for a wonderful session!

Sneak Peek Family "R"

I had the pleasure of working with the ladies of family "R" on Thursday afternoon. It was a special treat because I actually have known Jennifer (Mom) since I was 5 years old and had not seen her in about 14 years! Time flies- geez!! It was an honor to welcome the newest addition to her family with a fun photo shoot. AND, I really appreciate that she drove in from Ohio with a two year old and few week old newborn just to work with me. :)

She plans on SURPRISING her husband with pictures of them for the upcoming holidays.... so if you know him.. SHHHH!!!! Jennifer appreciates artistic images- mainly in black and white.
I brought out some beads, feathers, boxes, starfish... and more to get the creative juices flowing on our shoot! LOL. Check out some of the images below:
*Denise Synder's winning image was my inspiration for photo number one. I just loved it and had to do something similiar with these special people.

Enjoy your sneak peak, Jennifer! You are all just GORGEOUS!!! It was so nice to see you again and meet some of your fabulous family members. I have been working with quite a bit of dedication on your images and have nearly a dozen more black and whites to share with you. Your complete slideshow will be ready for viewing in just a couple more days!

Giving Back

A year or two ago I went to the petting farm with my nephew, Dylan. He really loves a specific goat there named, Colin. I decided to take a picture of this goat and transform it artistically into something unique. It did receive a winners badge at Betterphoto.com awhile back but Most importantly, my nephew got a picture of his favorite animal friend.

Last month I was contacted by Juli Kouri who asked me to donate a copy of this image to raise money for Food for the Hungry (
http://www.fh.org/). 20 images were auctioned at the event, which contributed to raising over $32,000 for Ehtopian orphans. The auction was held at Grace Covenant Church, in Austin TX.
I am pleased to know that my image could help such a worthy cause.
